Triage Protocol
1. Red Triage (Immediate Attention)
- Patients in critical condition requiring immediate medical attention are assigned to the red category.
- Examples include severe fractures, spinal injuries, open fractures with significant bleeding, and limb-threatening injuries.
- Red triage patients receive priority treatment to stabilise their condition and prevent further complications.
2. Yellow Triage (Urgent Attention)
- Patients with serious injuries or conditions that are not immediately life-threatening are classified under the yellow category.
- Examples include closed fractures, moderate sprains, and soft tissue injuries with significant pain.
- Yellow triage patients require prompt medical attention to assess and address their injuries effectively.
3. Green Triage (Non-Urgent Attention)
- Patients with minor injuries or conditions that do not require immediate medical attention fall into the green category.
- Examples include minor fractures, sprains, strains, and minor lacerations.
- Green triage patients may experience longer wait times as they are attended to based on the severity of other cases.
